Shooting Percentage Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 28, 2026

Privacy summary: The app has no user accounts, advertising, tracking, or developer analytics. Raw Apple Watch motion data is processed live on the device and is not stored or transmitted. Training data remains in the private app containers on your devices.

1. Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the Shooting Percentage app for Apple Watch and iPhone, the website at shootingpercentageapp.com, and support communications sent to the developer. It explains what information is processed, for which purposes, and what choices users have.

2. App Data We Process

Shooting Percentage processes Apple Watch motion data live to detect shooting movements and taps. Raw motion data is not stored or transmitted. Shooting results, categories, dates, settings, and personal-record reset dates are stored locally in the private app containers on your devices.

The developer does not receive or have access to this locally stored app data.

3. Device Synchronization

Training history, app settings, and a derived trial or purchase access status are transferred only between your paired iPhone and Apple Watch using Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. The developer does not operate a server for this transfer and cannot access the synchronized data.

4. Trial and In-App Purchase

The app verifies the free 2-day Trial and optional Full Access transactions with Apple's StoreKit framework. The 48-hour period begins at the verified Trial purchase date. Trial expiration and purchase status are cached locally for reliable offline behavior. Apple processes both non-consumable in-app purchases under Apple's terms. The developer does not receive your payment-card details.

5. Health and Motion Permissions

Motion access is used for shot and tap detection. HealthKit workout authorization is used only to manage a basketball workout session so detection can continue when the Apple Watch display dims. The app does not request read access to heart rate or health history and does not receive, store, or transmit heart-rate values. watchOS may manage device sensors while a workout session is active.

6. Preferences and Required APIs

UserDefaults stores app preferences, trial and purchase cache values, and internal migration or synchronization state. It is not used for tracking, advertising, profiling, or accessing data from other apps. Training session records are stored as local files in the app's private container.

7. Sharing and Third Parties in the App

The app contains no developer analytics, advertising, tracking, or third-party data services. A share card leaves the app only when you explicitly use Apple's system share sheet and choose a destination. The selected destination handles that shared content under its own privacy terms.

8. App Data Retention, Deletion, and Consent

Local data remains until it is removed through an available app control or the app is deleted. Because history can exist on both paired devices, delete the app from both devices to remove all local copies. Health and Motion permissions can be revoked in Apple system settings or the Health app; affected detection or background operation may then stop working.

9. Collection by the Developer

The developer does not collect, sell, rent, or otherwise receive personal data from the app. The app does not create user accounts. This statement does not cover information you choose to send in a support email or technical connection data processed when you visit the website, both of which are described below.

10. Website Hosting and Connection Data

This website is hosted using Cloudflare Pages and delivered through Cloudflare's network. When you access the website, technical connection data may be processed to deliver and secure the site. This may include your IP address, date and time of access, requested page, browser and device information, referrer information, and security-related request data.

The developer may view aggregate operational traffic statistics provided by Cloudflare, such as numbers of requests, visits, and page views and approximate country-level distribution. These statistics are used to operate, secure, and improve the website, not to identify individual visitors or build advertising profiles.

Processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is the secure, reliable, and efficient provision of this website. Technical data is retained only for as long as necessary for delivery, security, abuse prevention, service operation, and applicable legal obligations.

Service provider: Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, California 94107, USA. Cloudflare may process data through a global network, including in the United States. Cloudflare states that it relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and, where applicable, the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses for international transfers. Further information is available at https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/ and https://www.cloudflare.com/trust-hub/gdpr/.

11. Cookies, Analytics, and External Content

This website does not use advertising, tracking pixels, social-media plugins, contact forms, externally hosted fonts, or client-side analytics scripts. The developer does not set optional cookies. Cloudflare may use strictly necessary cookies or similar technologies where required to deliver or secure the website. Cloudflare also generates the aggregate operational traffic statistics described above. Links to external websites are opened only when you choose them; the respective provider's privacy terms then apply.

12. Contacting Support

If you contact the developer by email, your email address, message content, attachments, and related communication metadata are processed to answer your request. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR when the request relates to an app purchase or support relationship, and otherwise Article 6(1)(f) GDPR based on the legitimate interest in responding to inquiries. Communications are deleted when no longer necessary, unless legal retention obligations or the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims require longer retention.

Support email is routed using Cloudflare Email Routing and delivered to a mailbox provided by GMX, a service of 1&1 Mail & Media GmbH, Germany. In providing email delivery, these providers may process sender and recipient addresses, message content, attachments, and technical delivery metadata.

13. Your Rights

Subject to the applicable legal requirements, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. For the developer's establishment, the competent authority is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA), Germany. Information and complaint options are available at https://www.lda.bayern.de/.

These rights concern data actually processed by the controller, such as support emails or technical website data. The developer cannot retrieve app data stored only on your devices.

14. Controller and Contact

The controller responsible for this website and, where applicable, personal data processed in connection with support requests is:

Matthias Kube

15. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated when the app, website, hosting, or legal requirements change. Material changes will be published on this page and, where appropriate, reflected in the app. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
